A discovery flight, also known as an introductory flight, is an opportunity for individuals who are interested in aviation to experience flying for the first time. During a discovery flight, a certified flight instructor will take the individual on a brief flight in a small aircraft, usually a single-engine plane or a light sport aircraft. The instructor will give the individual a basic introduction to flying and allow them to take control of the aircraft for a short period of time. Discovery flights are a great way to get a taste of what it's like to fly and to see if pursuing a pilot's license is something that may interest you.
